Last weekend saw the wedding of Lee and Gayle at Spring Hall Mansion, the rather nice registry office in Halifax, West Yorkshire. It was my first time for wedding photography in the Halifax area!
The day started at Gayle’s folks house in the morning (it always surprises me how calm it is – not at all how I would have imagined it before I became a wedding photographer!) for some preparation photos and a cuppa before heading to the registry office via nearly every cobbled road in Yorkshire. After a short ceremony we were outside the registry office to take the group photos (the reception venue been a bit limited for space) before nipping off to take a few shots of the new Mr and Mrs on a nearby cobbled road.
With the bride and groom in the back of the Beauford (which incidentally looked awesome with the top down!) we headed up to Albert Promenade, a spot selected by Lee and Gayle as somewhere with meaning to them.
The rest of the day was spent at Prego’s in Brighouse – a fantastic restaurant if you’re ever in the area! After a delicious meal (for an Italian they don’t half make good Yorkshire puddings!) and some great speeches it was time for a bit of a breather before the night do kicked off. I took the opportunity to set up some lighting around the dance floor so we could get some fab shots of the first dance.
A great day and a great couple (with some wonderful children)! All the best Lee and Gayle!
