It really is a true honour when two people select you to photograph what will probably be the most important day of their lives – their wedding day. Welcome to the photography of Ursula and Ian’s wedding! They got married in Huddersfield at the Polish Church before heading over the Pennines to have their reception at the Saddleworth Hotel near Delph.
I think you’re bound to agree that the church (Our Lady of Czestochowabefore) looks fantastic! A real gem in the middle of town. Not only a treat for the eyes though – Ursula and Ian had a string quartet too! Wow!
As we went in to the church, the sun was shining – on the way out it was a different story!
Thankfully the weather at the other side of the hills was somewhat kinder!
I narrowly missed the “Mo bot” but caught the Bolt 🙂
How can you not take photos against the wonderful Peak District landscape at a place like this:
This wedding was a first for me on many fronts – first wedding at a the Polish church, first at the stunning Saddleworth Hotel and the first one where a Polish toast was performed. BTW.. How amazing is the cake?! Decorated by Theresa, Ursula’s mother.
As the sun went down we went outside to take full advantage of the stunning sunset. For the photographers amongst you, all the shots that follow were taken with only ambient light and a speedlight fired through a shoot through umbrella (with a 1/4 CTB gell for the bottom three shots).
After a full day, I said my farewells (getting some wonderfully kind compliments – thank you!)Â and headed home to back everything up before a drink, bath and bed!
