Anna and John celebrated their wedding at Huddersfield’s newest wedding venue, The Manor House in Lindley, and I was delighted to be their wedding photographer for the day since Anna, John and their son happen to be really special friends of ours!
To build up the full story of their wedding day, my day started with meeting up with the lads to capture a bit of the atmosphere whilst they got ready at home (also a great opportunity to photograph the button holes and rings) before heading to the Manor House to catch up with the ladies. Prep was well underway when I arrived so I got straight to work capturing a few shots of the ladies getting dolled up before doing a few detail shots of the brides dress and shoes.
With the wedding at Huddersfield town hall, I left in good time to make sure I had time to park up and get to the registry office before Anna arrived. As usual, I checked in with the registrar and found out we would be in a different room to the one I had been in on my previous visits.
After the most important part of the day was done with, with a bit of a squeeze, we just about managed to get everybody in the shot for a group shot of everybody on the steps before releasing the guests to nibble canapes and sip fizz!
On arrival back at the Manor House, we spent a few minutes getting a few portrait photos. With such a stunning venue, we were spoiled for choice but I always like to mix things up a bit so we headed just out of the venue for a shot with Lindley clock tower and then headed to a wooded area just next to the venue – you can have as many fancy shots as you like (and I like many!) but there is something about the ‘simple’ classic shots against foliage that is timeless (it’s usually the one that Mums and Dads choose to put on the wall too!)
After a delicious meal came the brief but rich speeches (timed perfectly as it turns out since we won the sweep stake on how long they’d be!). As the sun set, we nipped back outside to capture a few twilight photos and once the first dance was out of the way (accompanied by the awesome band), I was in full guest mode and on catch up with the wine! What an brilliant day!
I’m a wedding photographer based in Huddersfield so I look forward to returning to the Manor House in Lindley soon!
