Fixby Hall – a little idyll near an otherwise built up area of Huddersfield, hidden away in woodland and surrounded by Huddersfield golf course – not a bad place for a wedding! I had the pleasure of photographing Anna and Phil’s Huddersfield wedding recently in my first visit there!
My days started by meeting up with Anna and her bridesmaid at Lush in Marsh before heading to Fixby Hall to capture Phil and the guys arriving. As usual, time flew, I met Anna’s cute little sister (No.. Not like that.. She was only a few weeks old!), snapped a few detail shots, captured some happy moments and then the time arrived for Anna to walk the short walk with her Dad that would lead her to meet Phil!
Now.. As you know, all weddings day run a little late.. Except when the don’t! The ceremony itself started 5 minutes ahead of schedule and with one of the shortest possible ceremonies, we were soon outside to take the group photos and no sooner had we got those done, we were off around the grounds to find the bluebells I spotted growing during the pre-wedding shoot we did a few weeks back. It just had to be done!
After the buffet style wedding breakfast and some moving speeches came the turn of the best men! It’s always a sign of a good speech when you see a projector set up and they didn’t disappoint!
The Bootleggers (who I’d be very happy to recommend to anybody looking for a great band!) provided the evening entertainment – I was as guilty as the next man for singing along with nearly every song they played!
