Official wedding photographer for Carl and Hayley at the Saddleworth Hotel
Many congratulations to Carl and Hayley on a beautiful, very emotional wedding! I was so glad you chose me to be the person to capture the memories of your special day!
Our day started out capturing preparations for both the bride and the groom – I arrived mid morning and, as usual, got to work photographing Hayley’s beautiful wedding dress, flowers wedding jewellery, giving the girls a bit of space to get on with their wedding hair and make-up whilst I sussed out who was who, and what was going on! A quick chat with Grandma told me all I needed to know and I got to work capturing events as they unfolded. My second photographer and assistant for the day met up with the lads and captured preparations with them before they were whisked away in a Maserati Quattroporte to the Church.
At the appointed time, Anthony and his wife (owners of the Saddleworth Hotel) arrived at the father of the brides house in their Rolls Royce Phantom and Maserati to take the girls down to St David’s Church in Holmbridge where the service was conducted by Revd. Nick Heaton with some popular hymns – no words needed for me! Many thanks to Nick for making us so welcome.
After the ceremony, the confetti and a few private, emotional shots, we headed up to Digley Reservoir for more photos – although the couples reception venue gave us ample settings for photos, having a few minutes on route meant that it gave guests time to arrive at the venue and also gave the newly weds a few quiet moments together.
The Saddleworth Hotel near Delph is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the north and a venue which I am lucky enough to have visited a few times in my role as a wedding photographer. Being close to Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Marsden, quite a few couples that are fairly local to me seem to be choosing this stunning wedding venue. With grounds that make my job as wedding photographer easy and with an experienced, friendly team – I’m always glad to hear from couples that want to book me as their wedding photographer when I hear they are getting married at the Saddleworth Hotel.
On arrival, we quickly progressed through the group shots, with a few laughs along the way, before spending a few minutes capturing a few portraits of the bride and groom, leaving them with as much time as possible to spend with their guests and leaving us some time to capture a bit of the atmosphere. During the wedding breakfast we captured a few family and group shots.
Speeches came after the meal – I ended up in tears – not for the first time that that day – I’m always a big softy on a wedding day but boy was this an emotional one!! I’d set some lighting gear up whilst the wedding party ate so we had a quick portrait shoot after the meal, captured some more of the atmosphere and then got into party mode for the first dance.
A fantastic, beautiful wedding day. So glad to have been a part of it as your wedding photographer! Cheers!
